2025 Chairmans Report

Posted on January 5, 2026

As we near the end of another farming year, I hope all growers are satisfied with what the season has delivered. While there are always exceptions, I trust that the combination of better-than-average crop yields and historically high livestock prices has helped many stay ahead of the rising cost pressures we all face.

As outlined in Coll’s report, projects and improvements at the Katanning plant continue to enhance our productivity, capacity, and efficiency. In the current trading environment, even small gains contribute to maintaining a competitive edge. I would like to thank Coll and his entire team for their ongoing efforts to keep WAMMCO at the forefront of the processing sector.

It was fantastic to see so many members attend the recent AGM in Borden. We are always looking for new ways to engage with shareholders, and this event provided an excellent opportunity to do so. From both a board and management perspective, these gatherings allow us to share information and gain valuable feedback directly from growers. Thank you also to those who completed the recent survey—there were many useful insights gained.

Lastly, I would like to thank you all for your continued support over the past year. I hope this support continues as we move forward in what should remain a very favourable market for lamb and mutton producers. I wish you all the best for the conclusion of harvest and the chance to take a well-earned break over the holiday period.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

Kind regards,

Bill O’Keeffe
Chairman
