Working with WAMMCO
All our new employees are engaged on a permanent employment basis, and will commence accruing all entitlements – annual, personal/carers and long service leave – immediately upon commencing employment.
The operational hours/hours of work for the main sections of our processing plant are:
Boning Room – Monday to Thursday 6:30 am to 3:40 pm and 6:00 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.
Slaughter floor – Monday to Thursday 6:00 am to 3:10 pm and 6:00 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.
Reasonable additional hours at our Katanning facility consist of 1 hour each weekday together with 12 Saturday mornings each financial year (six (6) hours on each occassion).
Above award wages are offered.

Working in Katanning
Our Processing Plant is located 3 kilometres north of Katanning’s town site on the Great Southern Highway. We are, proudly, the largest employer in the region.
Katanning is a significant regional town with medical, dental and other social support networks and essential community infrastructure. The Leisure Centre is a significant recreational hub for the community, providing access to many sporting and community activities. There is also a large range of outdoor recreational sporting activities including cricket, football, pistol shooting, squash, golf, lawn bowls and tennis.

Trainee Programs
Trainee Programs
New employees are trained on the job and may also be invited to undertake a certified Meat Industry National Training Course (MINTRAC).
The MINTRAC training and certification program includes both on and off-the-job training coordinated by specialised training providers from the Australian College of Training.
Off-the-job (coursework) training is in the form of a self-paced computer training program covering all aspects of meat processing in a nationally certified/recognised training course and qualification.
For those interested in pursuing a career in the meat industry, each module can transition participants from training and qualification as a meat process worker, all the way through to meat inspection/quality assurance and abattoir management.
